VenturiPak Scrubber
Compact, All-in-One Advanced Scrubber Technology for MACT 129 Compliance
The EnviroCare VenturiPak Scrubber is a re-engineered, optimized Venturi scrubber designed to achieve high particulate collection efficiency at modest energy consumption. This compact, all-in-one system meets existing and new source Multiple Hearth Furnace (MHF) and Fluidized Bed Incinerator (FBI) emission limits set forth under 40 CFR Part 60 Subpart MMMM and Subpart LLLL.
Unlike traditional Venturi scrubbers that require high differential pressures or the addition of a Wet Electrostatic Precipitator (WESP), the VenturiPak places scrubber components in optimal sequence to maximize performance while minimizing energy use. The result is superior capture of fine PM2.5 particulates, submicron aerosols and heavy metals, the most difficult pollutants to control and the most optically active contributors to stack opacity.
The VenturiPak can be enhanced with elemental mercury removal using Sorbent Polymer Composite (SPC) modules developed in partnership with W.L. Gore. EnviroCare offers standalone MercuryPak Scrubbers for added flexibility.
How The System Works
Quench Stage
Effective SpiralMist nozzles and a low-energy Venturi capture over 90% of PM10 particulates while saturating the gas stream.
Sub-Cooling Stage
Following the quench, sub-cooling converts condensables into particulates and “grows” heavy metal particles, typically submicron, for easier capture in subsequent stages.
HydroMist Atomization
Water is atomized using HydroMist nozzles at the entrance of each Venturi tube, creating optimal droplet size for particulate capture and SOâ‚‚ absorption.
Multiple Venturi Tubes
Multiple “near true” Venturi tubes maximize energy recovery while maintaining high collection efficiency across varying gas flow rates.
Throat Atomizers
Venturi throat atomizers maintain differential pressure setpoint as gas flow varies, ensuring consistent performance under changing conditions.
Separation Stage
High-efficiency separation removes collected particulates and droplets from the gas stream before discharge.
Optional Mercury Removal
Sorbent Polymer Composite (SPC) modules can be integrated to capture elemental mercury, meeting 40 CFR Part 60 Subpart MMMM and Subpart LLLL mercury emission requirements.
