How The System Works

Collection
Scum is collected from primary and secondary clarifiers and directed into the concentrator unit.

Separation
The system separates water from scum solids through a controlled concentration process, capturing BOD5 and suspended solids efficiently.

Concentration
Water removed during the process is returned to the treatment flow, while concentrated scum is discharged for disposal, digestion or use as supplemental incinerator fuel.

Discharge
Drier, concentrated scum reduces weight and volume, lowering hauling requirements and ensuring compliance with regulations that prevent dumping diluted scum.
