Industrial Applications

Aluminum

Primary aluminum smelters worldwide rely on EnviroCare’s evaporative gas conditioning systems to manage emissions from carbon anode baking ovens. Our complete spray systems and tower designs precisely cool off-gases laden with HF, SO2 and hydrocarbons from 300-450°F to approximately 210°F, protecting downstream fabric filters and ensuring optimal alumina collection. With proven field experience and specialized metallurgy process knowledge, EnviroCare’s technology serves aluminum, zinc, nickel and steel smelting industries globally.

Cement

EnviroCare is the cement industry’s leading evaporative gas conditioning supplier with worldwide installations including preheater towers, kiln GCTs, downcomer ducts, alkali bypass systems and kiln backend applications. Our patented MicroMist dual-fluid nozzle technology, integrated with advanced PLC-based controls, precisely regulates air-to-water ratios to generate uniformly sized droplets that evaporate rapidly while maintaining consistent outlet temperatures and completely dry downstream operation. This field-proven system delivers the industry’s lowest energy consumption, eliminates the need for water filtration and features investment-cast, precision machined nozzles for maximum durability and minimal maintenance.

Composting

EnviroCare delivers low-maintenance industrial humidification solutions for composting facilities using our proprietary MicroMist dual-fluid spray technology to condition odorous exhaust gases upstream of biofilters. The system’s adjustable nozzle flow rates maintain the precise humid environment required for optimal biofilter performance across varying process conditions. Each installation is custom-engineered for the specific application, featuring precisely controlled droplet sizes and integrated control systems with an extensive spare parts inventory available.

Fertilizer

EnviroCare provides ultra-low emission technology for urea manufacturing facilities, achieving less than 5 mg/dNm³ emissions from prill towers and granulators where fine urea dust and ammonia are process byproducts. Our staged scrubbing approach can treat urea and ammonia separately or combined in a single compact unit that mounts directly on top of the prill tower, eliminating the need for an induced draft fan while recycling high-concentration urea liquor back to the evaporators. With no mesh pads to plug or clean, EnviroCare’s design ensures continuous operation and includes the option for top-mount WESP integration when ultra-high efficiency is required.

Food and Beverage

EnviroCare’s MicroMist Scrubber technology delivers proven performance for demanding food and beverage industry applications including dryers, smokers and cooking processes that generate oil-based aerosols, mists and smoke. Our advanced atomization technology significantly reduces both filterable and condensible fractions of particulate matter (including PM2.5), controls acid gases, improves stack opacity and protects downstream equipment such as RTOs from excessive maintenance. With lower energy consumption, high efficiency on submicron particulates, easy retrofit installation and minimal waste stream effluent, the MicroMist Scrubber provides cost-effective emission control for the most challenging food processing operations.

Pulp & Paper

EnviroCare has a strategic partnership with Andritz North America supplying custom-engineered MicroMist Scrubbers to pulp and paper mills facing increasingly stringent MACT II emission standards. This partnership combines Andritz’s deep pulp and paper process knowledge with EnviroCare’s air pollution control expertise to deliver high-performance scrubbers for recovery boilers, dissolving tank vents, NCG incinerators, power boilers and slakers. EnviroCare’s complete spray tower designs accommodate water flows up to 440 gpm with dozens of nozzle configurations to meet each mill’s specific emission control requirements.

Steel

EnviroCare delivers heavy-duty gas conditioning and scrubbing solutions engineered for the steel industry’s extreme environment, where BOF and EAF furnaces generate gases at 3,300°F (1,800°C) requiring rapid cooling to 300°F (150°C) before dedusting equipment. Our fast-response control systems manage abrupt temperature changes with water injection rates up to 1,000 gpm, while MicroMist Scrubbers achieve superior particulate removal at significantly lower pressure drops (15-20″ w.c.) compared to traditional Venturi scrubbers struggling to meet tightening regulations. EnviroCare’s custom engineering expertise includes cost-effective retrofit solutions that enhance existing Venturi performance through optimized water spray patterns and redirection, avoiding the capital and operating costs of oversized fans that address symptoms rather than root causes.
